By either embedding quality control steps within any given process or through the creation of specific quality control processes, the incorporation of quality control into the managed workflow prohibits the continuation from milestone to milestone or phase to phase unless all of the quality requirements have been met.
This is where workflow differs from project management, when quality measures are deemed unsatisfactory, the workflow is temporarily put on hold until the issues are resolved and documented. This feedback capability is managed through conditional business rules created by the quality control personnel and management.
